Offsetters Climate Solutions adds a ‘diamond’ touch to GLOBE 2014

VANCOUVER, Feb. 3, 2014  – Offsetters Climate Solutions is proud to announce their diamond level sponsorship as the official sponsor of carbon offsets of GLOBE 2014 the world’s largest and longest running conference and exposition that blends both business and environment, taking place in Vancouver, BC from March 26 to 28, 2014.

Held every two years since 1990, GLOBE 2004 provided the inspiration for Dr. James Tansey to create Offsetters, setting in motion the creation of what was to become North America’s leading carbon management solutions provider. Tansey will be moderating a panel discussion at GLOBE 2014 on the topic of how delaying climate action is not an option for governments and businesses.

As part of the partnership with Offsetters, GLOBE 2014 will once again be carbon-neutral, something that the two organizations have had in place since 2008. Over the last six years close to 15,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions have been offset to date – the equivalent of taking more than 3,000 cars off the road for one year. 

Conference themes for GLOBE 2014 include The Changing Energy Landscape; Towards the Circular Economy; Food and Water Security; Responsible Resource Management; Clean Capitalism: Financing Sustainable Innovation; and Building Resilient Cities. GLOBE has lined up notable speakers for the Vancouver conference including Jesse Berst, Chairman of the Smart Cities Council; Barbara Evaeus, Manager of Climate Communications for the World Wildlife Fund; and Amory Lovins, Co-Founder & Chief Scientist at Rocky Mountain Institute.
