What Does it Mean to be a Circular Economy Business?

• The circular economy is touted as a practical solution to the planet’s emerging resource crunch – an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them while in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life.

  But how can businesses better understand and become part of the circular economy? Join us as we take a look at work being undertaken by Canada’s National Zero Waste Council, businesses that have embraced the circular economy – their challenges, successes and lessons learned – and business models such product-as-a-service, sharing platforms, circular supplies, resource recovery and Product Life Extension.

  In collaboration with the National Zero Waste Council, a cross-sector initiative, founded by Metro Vancouver in collaboration with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, to advance waste prevention and reduction in Canada.
