There is still a chance to be recognized!
GLOBE-Net, August 26, 2016 — QUEST, the Quality Urban Energy Systems of Tomorrow, has extended their nomination deadline for the deadline for nominations for the 2016 Smart Energy Communities Award to Thursday, September 8th, 2016.
QUEST focuses on creating Smart Energy Communities, by improving energy efficiency, enhancing reliability, cutting costs, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
This involves integrating energy networks, to match energy needs, by integrating land use to prevent wasted energy through better city designs, and by harnessing local opportunities for energy production and utilization.
The first step is a Community Energy Plan. Sadly only half of the population of Canada lives in communities that have such plans.
QUEST’s goal is to make every community in Canada a Smart Energy Community by 2030. This will be a daunting task, but through its strong network consisting of regional and provincial caucuses, QUEST is up to the challenge.
The 2016 Smart Energy Communities Award will highlight the achievements of communities large and small across Canada.
The Award is open for companies and organizations from the follow sectors:
- Utility/Energy Service Providers
- Real Estate Sector (Owners/Operators/Builders)
- Local Public Service Sector
The Award, which recognizes Leadership and Innovation in advancing Smart Energy Communities across Canada, will be bestowed at the 10th Annual Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on October 17th, 2016, in Calgary, Alberta.
Up to 350 national and international leaders in the Local Government, Utilities & Energy Service Providers, the Real Estate Sector, and Clean Technology & Service Providers fields will be on hand.
This will be an excellent time to show off your community’s or your organization’s success in the sustainability sector!
